ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION TO DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (Ph.D.)PROGRAMMES

Ph. D. Programme :

Ph.D. programme is offered in regular mode consisting of courseworks and research. The scholars admitted in the programme are required to work as full time scholars. They are also to undergo courseworks at least for one semester.

Research and Teaching Assistantship (RTA) :

There is a provision of Research and Teaching Assistanship under KKHSOUDEC collaborative project under which the selected scholars are required to assist the University in its teaching course preparation/design in the concerned subject for a minimum of 6 hours per week besides doing research. They are entitled to get monthly stipends at the rates fixed by the Distance Education Council or appropriate authority. Candidates applying under this scheme shall not be above 25 years of age on 1st July of the year of award.

Admission to Ph. D. Programme :

Admission will be given based on performance in the admission test followed by presentation of the Synopsis before a panel of experts. The written test will comprise of General English, current affairs, general awareness and aptitude. There will be objective type questions for 100 marks and the duration of the test will be 2 (two hours). 30 candidates will be selected for presentation of synopsis provided they secure minimum qualifying marks 50% in the admission test.
