What is the duration of D. El. Ed programme?
Who are eligible to take admission to D. El. Ed programme?
The untrained teachers of the elementary level (lower primary and upper primary) in the state of Assam are eligible to take admission in the D. El. Ed programme of KKHSOU. However, they must be deputed by the Sarba Siksha Abhijan, Assam.
What is the admission procedure for D. El. Ed programme of KKHSOU?
The District Mission offices (SSA, Assam) depute teachers from their respective districts and allots study centre to the respective to-be trainees. The trainees shall report in the study centre allotted to them by SSA.
KKHSOU shall admit the list of trainees deputed by the Axom Sarba Siksha Abhijan.
What is the fee structure of the programme?
The trainee teachers who are selected by the government need not pay any course fee. However, they will have to pay an examination fee of Rs. 6,925/-
In how many languages are the study materials available?
English, Assamese and Bengali. (Study materials in Bodo shall be available soon)
Is it compulsory to attend counselling classes?
Yes. The attendance is compulsory, minimum attendance being 80%.
My attendance is below 80%. Can I appear for the examination?
No, the minimum attendance is 80%.
How many workshops will be held in a year?
Two workshops, one in each year, will be organised in the Study Centres. The workshops will be conducted at the study centres during the summer vacation for twelve days in every year.
Is it compulsory to participate in the workshop?
Yes, the participation of the trainees in all the activities of the workshop is compulsory.
When will be the workshop schedule given?
It will be given one month prior to the commencement of the workshop. The workshop schedule will be uploaded in the website of our University.
Where will we get the assignments?
The trainees will get the assignments in due time through their respective study centres or may download it from the website of our university.
What will happen if I cannot submit the assignments on time?
Failing to submit the assignments on time, a trainee will not be allowed to appear in the term-end examination.
Can I get transfer to another study centre? What is the procedure?
Transfer of study centre is subject to transfer of job. You have to apply to the Principal Coordinator, D. El. Ed programme, KKHSOU and submit a photocopy of your transfer order.
However, in any other cases except transfer of job, the trainee has to apply directly to the Mission Director, SSA, Kahilipara, Assam. The University shall give permission on the basis of the instruction from the Mission Director.
How many chances are given for the completion of the programme?
The trainees are expected to pass in all the courses in one sitting. In case of failure, two additional chances can be availed for clearing the courses.
However, all the chances of appearing in examinations shall be restricted within four years from the date of first admission.
Can the examination be given in other medium, apart from English and Assamese?
The question paper will be provided in two languages: English and Assamese.
But there is a provision for the trainees to write in Bengali, Bodo and Hindi also apart from English and Assamese.
